Impact of Science: The Negatives

Can Something that has been proved to benefit the human race to an extent that cannot be replicated over the next many decades be of an utmost concern to the population’s existence?

Hello people of the world and welcome back to another episode of Pointless in Science.

I have been scripting for many days that at this moment, I have lost the count of which episode it is going to be. So kindly rely on the title.

Moving towards the topic, It is not hidden that science has proved to be a boon to everyone, but it comes at a cost.

Environmental Impacts are the most obvious. Environmental challenges are the most pressing concern facing the planet. The list of problems is endless: ozone depletion, global warming, less vegetation, climate change, animal extinction, and so on. Everyone on the earth has been harmed by the rise of industries and the building of factories and plants.

Humanity has benefited much from medical research. Medicines from around the world are regarded to be a foolproof cure for any illness. This technology, however, has a number of drawbacks. Excessive drug use nowadays could lead to death. Furthermore, incorrect dosage consumption can lead to serious health problems, and treating such conditions is often hard.

In a multitude of ways, technological improvements have benefited humanity. However, it has made us too busy to visit our loved ones in person and has caused health issues. Electronic gadgets, appliances, and, most importantly, computer technology have made human life so sedentary that people are dying far sooner than they should be.

The vast majority of current scientific research, whether directly or indirectly, is directed towards developing weapons, and is backed by every country's defence ministry. Furthermore, as new technology favours automation and artificial intelligence rather than labor-intensive businesses, job losses are becoming more common. There will certainly be more frustration and unemployment among the labour force that is dependent on industries. New technology may have a noble objective, but it also has the potential to damage mankind.

There are no doubts that science is the greatest revolution that the globe has ever seen. A regular person, on the other hand, has no concept how far this field has progressed today. The drawbacks of science and technology are nothing more than proof of the truth that, no matter how hard one tries, it is impossible to drop to the ground from the heights attained by this subject.

After this and the previous debate on its advantages, The question in front of us is whether it is a boon or a bane.

Stay connected for the next episode.
