Computer Science: Part 1

Since the last few years, one field of study that is the most in demand is computer science. Infact the primary choice of the top rankers in Engineering entrance exams is undoubtedly Bachelor of Technology in Computer Sciences.

But why did it rise to the top. What is the impact it holds on our lives.

Hello people of the world. This was a glimpse of the things we are going to be talking about today. Let’s Begin.

Firstly a brief of what Computer Science is in the first place as mentioned by the University of Maryland on its website. Although i will be paraphrasing it, all credits of the following small bit go to the University of Maryland.

Computer science is the study of computers and computing systems. Computer scientists, unlike electrical and computer engineers, specialise in the theory, design, development, and implementation of software and software systems.

Artificial intelligence, computer systems and networks, security, database systems, human computer interaction, vision and graphics, numerical analysis, programming languages, software engineering, bioinformatics, and computing theory are all major fields of study in Computer Science.

Although programming is an important part of computer science, it is simply one aspect of the discipline. Computer scientists create and evaluate algorithms to solve problems and research computer hardware and software performance.Computer scientists deal with a wide range of issues, from the abstract (determining what problems can be solved with computers and the complexity of the algorithms that solve them) to the concrete (designing applications that work well on handheld devices, are simple to use, and adhere to security measures).

Computer science degrees focus on the theoretical underpinnings of information and computing, as well as the scientific and practical applications of computation. In the field of information processing, computation is defined as any sort of calculation or application of computing technology that follows well-defined models (such as algorithms and protocols) (which in turn is defined as the use of these models to transform data in computers).

Many computer scientists regard computer science to be a foundational science, one that enables other types of knowledge and accomplishments. Computer science is the study of methodical procedures (such as algorithms) that help in the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, transmission, and access to information. This is accomplished through examining the processes' viability, structure, expression, and automation, as well as how they connect to the data. In computer science, the term "information" generally refers to data stored in computer memory as bits and bytes.

As this part itself was quite long, let us include its origin in the next part. That would be out soon. Till then share it as much as you can and do follow Pointless in Science.

I'll see you all soon. Peace.
